To all of those
affiliated with our website—
Let me begin by
wishing all of you the best during this holiday season. It’s been about a
year since I last addressed a letter like this to all of you, and a lot has
happened both on and off line since then. For more on that, please refer to
our 2006 Annual
Report in PDF format. I thought I would also take this opportunity
to re-write my Editor's Letter, noting these changes both on the site and on
a personal level. If you'd prefer to not learn about these changes, feel
free to revert to my original Editor's
Letter.
Certainly, as with
a year ago, the staff and I here at the site are working hard to improve
every aspect. From a layout and design standpoint, this is in fact our
second full website, third if you count the temporary version we released in
late 2005. Even this second version has undergone changes, most recently
with the addition of pull-quotes, Special Reports, and By the NUMBERS
statistics. Also, several pages have been redesigned. If you have not yet
done so, I'd encourage you to flip through the site to see what's new.
Now for that
personal note. I have continued writing editorials for mine, Justin, and
JoJo's great school newspaper, a recipient of the 2006 National Pacemaker
Award I might add, and I have also recently joined the paper's editorial
board as a Special Report editor. This is an incredibly time consuming
commitment, but I believe the effort I put in there will also crossover to
my writing and design abilities here. Overall, a great experience, and one
that I look forward to continuing.
Since we last
spoke I have also completed the PEARL training and certification course, and
I'm now an official graduate of the this valuable youth journalism program.
Again, I'd encourage anyone with an interest to visit their website and
apply by clicking here.
Of course, I have
also continued my participation in Model United Nations, DECA, and on my
school's tennis team.
Again, I would
encourage you to visit our Join Us!
page if you think you have an interest in anything we do here, from writing,
to editing, to web and graphic design, and more. We'd love to have you on
board.
As always, feel
free to contact me anytime via a
Contact Us form or
at editor@teenspeakonline.com.
I usually respond within a day or so.
I cannot thank you
enough for your continued support for our site. Happy reading, as we embark
on our second year. We hope you'll join us.
Sincerely yours,
Victor Rudo
Editor-In-Chief
