Dear TSO Reader,
First and foremost, I am
thrilled to see that TeenSpeak is once again branching out and expanding its
boundaries. You, the TSO reader, have spoken and we are responding. There
have been numerous requests to join our esteemed group of staff reports as
well as solid feedback to the stories that we have posted. Indeed, your
interest in having a website solely devoted to the teenage perspective on
the world was evident. With this in mind, it was a relatively easy decision
to undergo our site’s massive restructuring and improve TeenSpeak for our
readers.
As a pioneering member of
TeenSpeak, I have come to take a more refined role in order the further the
progress of this website. As the Managing Editor for Business, I am
responsible for the day-to-day operation of the site.
This includes making design and content
decisions, and determining and implementing sources for revenue for the site
to stay in service.
In is my intention to bring
my skill set to the table in this role. Currently, I am a high school junior
and participate in activities such as Model UN, Student Congress, and
Scholastic Bowl. I am also the News Editor of my school paper and I believe
that my editing skills will translate well to the site. Moreover, I
participate in DECA, an international business club. In fact, this year, I
qualified for the DECA national competition after placing first in the state
of Illinois for the International Business Plan Event. Hopefully, my
business expertise will lead to great improvements for TSO.
As far as athletics goes, I
run for my school’s cross country and track teams and I have also played on
the basketball team. I am the varsity captain of the cross country team and
I hold my teammates to a high standard in order to achieve our potential. I
devote myself to running everyday and I promise to bring the same work ethic
and commitment to TSO as the Managing Editor for Business.
In addition, I am extremely
glad to be working with two editors who share my passion for this website.
Both Victor and Ariel have taken it upon themselves to go above and beyond
the rigors of high school class work, and devote time and energy to Teen
Speak. I am sure that they will agree with me when I say that the time spent
of this website is well worth it.
