Religion, belief and spirituality are the main three words which bring morality and social boundaries into our life. But, at the same time, they can be the words which separate us as a people. I personally believe there is no absolute in religion; every religion has its own pros and cons, and its own values. Each of us should at least try to respect one another, regardless of where we are and who we are. In my country, Kyrgyzstan, 75% of the population is Muslim. I never knew that we can be people from many different religions and still live close to each and be respectful. But nowadays religion has become one of the main problems. The part of the problem we are facing nowadays is the disagreement of the sides, proving that on of them is right.

When I came to the U.S. for the first time I was supposed to go to church, which was a totally new experience. It was especially different because I had never heard about this religion; the only thing I thought I knew was that they do not drink coffee and tea. I got acquainted with all the people at the Church and was feeling better after that. But we have to accept that not all the people are the same as others.

The next experience I had was at my school; a private Christian school. Every day the day starts with praying to someone or just praying to everyone. Another day we had an assembly and the people in our school were praying and worshiping, but for me it was not that big of a deal. Perhaps I just didn't understand. Our teachers literally made us stand up and say the prayers. I think this was wrong; religion should be up to the people and it depends on what they what to do and how they wan to do.

Sometimes I feel like I am not from this planet, because I didn't know how many religions there are on this earth. A couple of weeks ago I met a Wiken girl, who was a self-proclaimed follower of the witch people. After that, I was shocked at the diversity of religion around the world. My religion is what I want to believe in. There are still some people who want to change us and to believe what they want, but everything we have is up to us. Be thankful for what we have in this world, and be tolerant to everyone in this earth, regardless of what religion they are.
